I’m James Ebert and I’m running for Weber County Commission Seat A

For more than three decades, James Ebert has built his career around service, leadership, and a deep commitment to the people of Weber County. He and his wife, Steffani, have called Farr West home for 27 years, where they raised their five children and now enjoy being grandparents to three grandchildren.

James began his career by putting himself through the police academy, going on to serve 23 years with the Riverdale Police Department. Over that time, he worked his way through the ranks as a patrol officer, detective, sergeant, and administrative lieutenant. His experience on the front lines of public safety gave him a clear, firsthand understanding of the real issues facing individuals and families in the community.

James is also a proud graduate of Weber State University, an education that helped prepare him for leadership roles both in law enforcement and in public service.

His background in public safety naturally led to public office, where he served as a Weber County Commissioner. In that role, James worked to strengthen the local economy, improve infrastructure, and ensure taxpayer dollars were managed responsibly. He became known for bringing people together, finding practical solutions, and focusing on long-term outcomes rather than short-term fixes.

Beyond county government, James has helped guide growth and development in neighboring communities through his work as an economic development consultant for Morgan County.

His ability to think strategically while staying grounded in real-world impacts has made him a trusted voice in planning for sustainable, responsible growth.

Today, James continues his service as Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis, where he works closely with youth and families to create opportunities and build strong community connections. His leadership reflects a belief that investing in the next generation is essential to the long-term success of Weber County.

James is seeking office because he believes Weber County is at a critical point. Growth, infrastructure demands, and rising costs require thoughtful leadership and a clear plan for the future. He is committed to keeping communities connected, encouraging respectful dialogue, and making decisions based on what is best for residents—not political pressure.

He is especially focused on easing the burden on taxpayers by exploring more balanced and sustainable ways to fund essential services, while maintaining the high level of public safety and infrastructure residents depend on.

James is known for his steady approach, his willingness to listen, and his ability to work with people from all backgrounds. He believes good government is built on trust, transparency, and accountability. With decades of real-world experience and a commitment to doing what’s right, James is prepared to help lead Weber County forward.

Experienced leadership that drives real change.
